Job Trainer is currently the number 1 Government initiative to support Australian business. What it could mean to your business and your employees.

Under the Job Trainer program, the Australian Government has recently invested $2 billion targeted at financially assisting employers via wage subsidies, and funded training to fill job vacancies with trainees. This program provides thousands of Australians access to new skills and upskilling them into sectors with job opportunities, as the economy recovers from COVID-19.

The Job Trainer skill package will guarantee thousands of traineeships employed at businesses with less than 200 employees across the country by subsidising their wages to keep them in their training jobs. This subsidy covering 50 per cent of trainee wages, up to $7,000 per quarter is designed to support school leavers and job seekers to develop new skills to grow sectors and create pathways for growth.

In addition to wage subsidies, traineeship courses will be low fee or fully funded in areas of identified need, as the Australian Government funding contributions are being matched from state and territory government.
